Our graduate program trains science visualization specialists— professional illustrators, animator

The Biomedical Visualization graduate program, founded in 1921, offers a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Visualization. We shape leaders in visual communication who create, disseminate and advance knowledge in the life sciences, healthcare, and medicine.

Congratulations to our BVIS second year student, Eyzel Torres-Vicencio, who was featured as one of five inspiring UIC grads! We are very proud of her hard work and excited to see her continue to inspire others after graduation!

Eyzel Torres-Vicencio, who will graduate with a UIC Biomedical Visualization master’s degree from on Saturday, May 4, aims to make health care education more inclusive and diverse. She is an inspiring grad who has fused her science and art interests into a unique career path. On behalf of the Student Association of Medical Artists, BVIS would like to extend the invitation to their 2024 annual art show "A Captivating Connection Between Art and Science". The exhibit is at the International Museum of Surgical Science and will be open to the public from March 8th through the 24th. Join SAMA in celebrating the biomedical visualization work of students during the opening reception this Friday!
