Meet DJ! DJ joined our team Winter term as a Community Relations Representative, diving head first into helping plan events and programs for our Masculinity Explorations initiative. DJ is silly, lighthearted, and sweet. He is our all-star rookie, and we are always glad to have his chill presence here at the center! 🧊

Meet Masha! Masha is our wonderful Graphic Designer, making a lot of the beautiful flyers for our events and programs. Masha has also been involved with our AYA Women of Color initiative, along with programming for the center as a whole, with their first event being the Spring Clothing Swap! Masha is goofy, artsy, kind, and always keeps it real. Give it up for Masha! 👏🏻

Meet Sajjad! Sajjad joined our team Winter term and has been involved with our Masculinity Explorations initiative, planning events such as the Exploring Masculinities collab with CEL where they were a panelist. Sajjad is intelligent, passionate, sarcastic, and intentional. We are so happy to have Sajjad’s fresh perspective 💅

Meet Benajza! Benajza is a Leadership Liaison and has been working at the center for the past three years and has been doing significant work with AYA and the whole center. Benajza is very kind, spunky, and radiant - she is a joy to be around and she lights up every room she walks in. We all love Benajza!😁

Tiny Kitchen Concert is back for Spring term! Join us next Tuesday, June 4th from 5-7 pm for a fun night of music. From 5-6 there will be open-mic/karaoke, and from 6-7 we will have our headliner, .e ! We hope to see you there 🎶🎤🥁🎸

Attention ‼️ We have two closures coming up this week. Today, we will be closing at 5pm and tomorrow (Thursday) we and all other cultural resource centers will be closing at 3:30pm.

Meet Yajirrah! Yajirrah is a Community Relations Representative (incoming Communications Rep next year!) and is involved with both our AYA Women of Color initiative and our Masculinity Explorations initiative. Yajirrah is goofy, sweet, energetic, and ALWAYS smiling. We appreciate the brightness that Yajirrah brings to the center - never a dull moment in her presence 😎

Meet Kailey! Kailey is a Community Relations Representative (soon to be LL!) and has been working at the center for the past two years, spearheading programming for AYA and the center as a whole. Kailey is organized, kind, VERY on top of things, and always your biggest advocate - we are happy to have Kailey’s presence and leadership in the center, and we all love Kailey as both a coworker and friend!

We are hosting a Sip & Paint for BIPOC students! Join us on Saturday, May 25th from 2-4 PM for a day of fun and relaxation. Food and drinks will be provided! Please meet at the center first and you will be directed to our painting area near the courtyard space by Furman Hall and the Pharmacy building. We hope to see you there! 🎨🖌️

Next up for our Meet the Staff series is Rain! Rain is one of our Community Relations Representatives and has been with us for the past three years, doing significant work for our Masculinity Explorations initiative and planning other events such as Game Nights and D&D night. Rain is thoughtful, creative, sweet, and witty - we all feel so delighted when Rain is present in the center!

We are extending our Spring Swap event another week! Today (Monday 5/20) is the last day we will be accepting donations, so come stop by and check out the clothing swap!

Finishing out our senior squad with the one and only, Hazel! Hazel is a Leadership Liaison and has been with the center for the past three years planning events for the center and has been recently involved with helping plan events for our Masculinity Explorations initiative. Hazel is creative, thoughtful, and friendly. We are appreciative of Hazel’s leadership and spunky style in the center 🤪

Meet another one of our seniors, Jada! Jada is a Leadership Liaison and has been involved with the center for the past three years, helping plan events for AYA and the center as a whole. Jada is wholesome, thoughtful, and driven. We are so grateful for Jada’s organization skills keeping us in line 🫡

Meet another one of our beloved seniors, Sami! Sami is one of our Community Relations Representatives that has been involved in planning various events for both the center and our AYA Women of Color Initiative. Sami is funny, caring, and passionate about the work she does - we are always appreciative of Sami’s chill presence. Everyone, give it up for Sami!

‼️ Attention ‼️The center will be closing early today at 3:30 PM due to staffing. But, we will be reopening at 6 PM for club meeting. We will reopen tomorrow as normal at 10am!

Starting off our Meet the Staff series strong with one of our four seniors, Julie Huang! Julie is one of our Community Relations Representatives and has been involved with planning the center’s Tiny Kitchen Concerts and other events. Julie is easy-going and dedicated, and we are very thankful to have her goofy presence in the center 🤠

Ready to do some closet spring cleaning? Come to the Hattie Redmond & Gender Center during our open hours Week 7 (May 13-17) to do a clothing swap. Bring clean clothes, shoes, or accessories you would like to donate, and browse for new pieces to take. End the week off with our Tiny Kitchen Concert event - details about that coming soon!
