EOP Weekly Happenings Newsletter-- Week 5 (Spring 2021) 04/26/2021

Dear EOP friends,

Dam Proud Day is almost here! Although this annual giving day was unable to occur in 2020 due to the pandemic, we are excited to be moving forward in 2021 with a focus on our Black Student Access & Success efforts housed within the Educational Opportunities Program.

Black students graduate from college with more debt than their white classmates, and racial disparities in interest accrual and graduate school borrowing lead to an even greater debt burden for Black graduates over the next several years.

Working together, we can increase educational access and provide holistic support to Oregon State University's Black community. Supporters who give on April 28 will see their impact doubled, up to $5,000, thanks to a generous giving challenge established by Ed and Mary Jennings.

You can help our efforts by sharing information about Dam Proud Day on your social media channels and with family and friends. Find suggested content and graphics to promote the Black Student Access & Success giving opportunity as well as the cultural resource centers at Oregon State. Let's enhance the college experience and provide support for OSU students of color.

With appreciation,

Janet Nishihara
