Miner Pride is global! Meet Karoline Daland. Originally from Grimstad, Norway, Karoline Daland graduated from UTEP in 2022 with a BBA in Management and a Minor in International Business. She recently completed her MBA at the University of Charlotte and now works in the hospitality industry in Norway. Karoline was a dedicated member of the UTEP Track & Field team from 2019 to 2022.

Whoo! Congratulations to the fall Gilman awardees from UTEP.

Gilman applications are open now for students looking to go in the summer and fall, and early applications for spring 2025. This cycle closes March 7.

Nine UTEP students (two not pictured) have been accepted into the prestigious Gilman International Scholarship Program to study abroad. This group of students represents the largest number of UTEP Gilman Scholars for the fall application cycle in nearly a decade – and includes the first ever recipient of the Gilman-McCain Scholarship.

Tune in on Nov 7 from 9am-11am for the "Inside US Foreign Policy Seminar: Global Public Health." The FREE seminar will explore the subject of global public health and how the State Department advances US foreign policy interests through its work on strengthening global health security to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious diseases in the United States and around the world.
Attendees will hear from technical experts and US diplomats working with the Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy, the Bureau of African Affairs, and the Global Health Protection Division at the CDC at the US mission to Tanzania.

Online renewals are coming!
During the initial testing, online renewals were only available to certain applicants, based on their current passport and travel plans. For example, those renewing could not be changing any information from their previous passport (ex: name change) and their passport had to be a 10-year passport (not going from youth passport to a standard passport). Other details about the program can be found at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew-online.html.

Over 500,000 customers have successfully submitted passport applications through our Online Passport Renewal portal! Thank you to all who tested this service. We’ve temporarily closed it & will periodically reopen the portal to new applicants prior to full launch later in 2023.
