Women’s History Month is celebrated in March in order to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of women to the United States history stretching back to the founding of the United States. American women’s history has been full of pioneers: Women who fought for their rights, worked hard to be treated equally and made great strides in fields like science, politics, sports, literature and art. Join us this month in commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.
The University of Texas at El Paso and the UTEP Alumni Association, along with the UTEP colleges and schools, have a long tradition of recognizing exceptional graduates who have distinguished themselves in their professions and lives by giving back to their communities and alma mater, and who serve as an inspiration for future generations of Miners. These individuals stand out as examples of dedication, integrity, and hard work.
They are the finest among us; they are the Distinguished Alumni and the Gold Nugget Award Recipients.
