Thank you Latino Stories for this great review!
"As the title suggests, these are stories of fiction and superstition, yet Chacón’s characters live in worlds where reality and superstition can be one and the same. As a savvy writer, he brings the characters in and out of these worlds seamlessly and convincingly. It’s no exaggeration to say that all of the stories in this collection accomplish this"

SUNDAY MARKET MADRID
Workshop professors Andrea Cote and Daniel Chacon met the writers at the Rastro market, oriented them to how huge it is --with so many different sections of stuff new stuff old stuff expensive stuff cheap stuff --and asked them to go out and take photos, but submit only two.
Then they had time to sit down and write nonstop free writing, about anything the images evoked.
Here are a few.
Later we'll share some of the work the images inspired.

https://www.elbeisman.com/v2/2024/05/28/basura-que-se-antoja/
