Our community…working together to organize food donations from our community partners at Aloha Harvest! With limited or zero income & resources, your weekly blessings of food helps our seniors tremendously to get through their week. Our guest look forward to what they can prepare through your wonderful food donations! Mahalo again for all you do!

Mahalo to the Beautiful Queens of the Ladies Auxiliary for donating 175 beautiful, new full size Saks Fifth Avenue pillows! This will help provide comfortable rest for all our folks within our shelters & programs across Hawaii. We applaud your volunteer efforts & value our partnership!

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary is open to the mothers, wives, widows, grandmothers, sisters, daughters and granddaughters of AMVETS and female veterans who are currently serving or who have honorably served in the Armed Forces of the United States, including the National Guard and Reserve components, anytime after September 15, 1940. For more than 50 years AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary has served veterans and their communities through various community programs!

As the lead counselor for our Lumanai Mo Samoa project she leads with passion and provides direct substance abuse services for the people of American Samoa. She also helps us on our billing side with her expertise in Bookkeeping. We are so blessed to have her part of our DHC Ohana and we wish her all the joy her heart can hold this year and always!!

Another awesome day at Big Tire Bootcamp - Outdoor Fitness in Ewa Beach, HI💥 We are so fortunate to live in an amazing place where we can enjoy beautiful weather all year long ☀️ Research suggests that increased physical activity, of any kind, can improve depression and anxiety related symptoms experienced by people across the lifespan. Engaging in regular physical activity has also been shown to reduce the risk of developing depression in children and adults. If we know better, we can do better 😉👊🏽

Major shoutout to our community partner Big Tire Bootcamp - Outdoor Fitness in Ewa Beach, HI for an amazing day overcoming fear, and trying something new for our folks at DHC. We believe that healing comes in all forms. Health and healing are broad in scope and multidimensional. We must increasingly define health for ourselves and for those we work with in the three realms: health of mind, health of body, and health of spirit.

Fear - although an emotion we're all familiar with, yet often misunderstood. Many of us have been taught to see fear as a towering, insurmountable obstacle. But what if we shift our perspective? What if we see fear not as a barrier, but as a bridge?

By recognizing that fear is often a creation of our own minds. It's a signal, not a command. It's an invitation to engage, to question, and to overcome. When we understand that the real battle is not with the external world but within our own minds, we empower ourselves to take control.

As we prepare Thanksgiving meals to feed all our residents at all 3 of our homeless shelters and outpatient community clinic, we are most Thankful & Blessed to have the support of our amazing Community Partners for blessing us with a donation to feed everyone this Thanksgiving season. All 40 of our group members were able to enjoy an amazing day outdoors enjoying our beautiful aina & all the wonderful activities you have at Secret Island. Everyone was in awe & so thankful for the fun opportunity as this was our first experience. We’re so blessed by all of you & your commitment to helping our local communities & programs succeed. DHC putting in work at the Partners in Care Point in Time Count 2023. The Point-in-Time (PIT) count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January. Together, we can make a difference!

A great example for others as he knows firsthand what it takes to move from homelessness to housing first & helping others succeed in the process.
