Speaker: Simon Wolfe Taylor, Senior Experience Researcher, Twitter

In this talk + Q&A, Twitter UX Researcher Simon Wolfe Taylor draws on his personal experience moving from academia to applied research to offer advice and suggestions for making the most out of a liberal arts degree. Simon will share insights from his on-the-job training in applied ethnography and tricks for translating academic lingo into industry buzzwords. He will also talk about what it’s like to work in industry and how typical industry projects function, plus he’ll share tips on what industry recruiters are looking for in job candidates.

Simon Wolfe Taylor graduated with a Ph.D. in History and taught Social Sciences at the University of Chicago before leaving academia to become a corporate anthropologist. He has worked as a strategy consultant and UX Researcher and is currently Senior Experience Researcher at Twitter.
