Messing around here with some arm balances at the old abandoned Beatles Ashram near Rishikesh quite a few years ago. This place was so peaceful and beautiful. The old meditation hall was decorated illegally by local artists. The jungle was busy taking back the ruins.
This is one of my favourite transitions for fun and also an extremely efficient way to maintain active range and strength in the trunk and hips. I learned this little sequence of Titthibasana, to Ashtavakrasana, and on to Koundinyasana in 1997 from Simon Borg-Olivier and it has stayed with me. It requires (and maintains) plenty of "core strength" with spinal mobility.
Actually the athletes in the Indian Cricket team were pretty impressed with it as I remember.
If you would like to learn more and play around with these and other yoga tricks (and impress athletes who think that yoga asana is just stretching) I will be running a four week course from 18th of this month to teach the Yoga Synergy Fire sequence in detail.

I am really looking forward to this experience. Sharing yoga knowledge and surfing knowledge with surfers in an idyllic 😄location. We will work on recovery, mobility, mental skills, technique drills and enjoy trading high quality waves. This is the work I love!

I was so inspired by MacDougal's Born to Run that I ended up running the three peaks Ultra.

Y.F.S. is based on an up to date understanding of anatomy and physiology and movement science and draws from a deep and diverse yoga background. The g0al is to extend your sporting career, improve your performance and reduce the risk of injury.
What started as an interest in using breathing and yoga postures to help a few individual athletes, has grown into a series of International Training programs and a soon to be published book.
