On Monday, the Albany County Legislature announced its first round of 2024 Municipal Park Grants. We are pleased to report that more than $70K in awards are going to parks in GOP & Conservative Districts.

Tonight, our Conference voted unanimously against Resolution 374, which will create a ‘feasibility study’ to determine the siting of electric vehicle chargers across Albany County.
The County Legislature is putting the cart before the horse with this idea. Excluded from the legislation is a much-needed economic analysis to determine what the eventual siting of future commercial chargers will cost County taxpayers. In addition, whether or not the County will charge consumers for plug-ins, or give it out for free, remains an open question.
Our Conference is in no way opposed to the use of electric vehicles. We are in favor of private individuals choosing whether or not they want to drive an EV, plug-in hybrid or gas-powered vehicle. We cannot, however, support this proposal which will enable the continued proliferation of infrastructure already heavily subsidized by taxpayers and with no real cost attached to its end goals.
Tonight’s monthly meeting of the Albany County Legislature 🏛️ is set to start at 6:30 p.m. with a public forum 🗣️
There’s a reason why the City of Albany is experiencing an epidemic of violent crime committed by and against youth.
‘Raise the Age’ and other soft on crime policies coming from our State Capitol have led to this crisis. Think our lawmakers care enough to fix it?
