MINDFULNESS MEDITATION is BACK and IN-PERSON! Student Counseling Services (SCS) is excited to announce that we are offering Mindfulness Meditation sessions every Monday and Thursday during the Fall 2022 semester. Join us to learn and practice how to relax your body and calm your mind - using guided meditation, relaxation techniques, and gentle stretching!
Faculty, staff and students are eligible to attend meditation sessions. All levels of experience are welcome.
The sessions start promptly at 12:10 p.m. and last for about 30-35 minutes. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in at the front desk of SCS, located in Room B-119. No appointment is necessary. No special equipment is necessary.

Free and open to all students, this is a collaborative support group where students can share and receive life skills. Rignesha will provide a brief overview of the acronym, history of the community, and a resource guide which can be used to understand APIDA students in higher education context.

What is NEIU Student Counseling Services?
NEIU Student Counseling Services offers free personal therapy for currently enrolled students (undergraduates and graduates, part-time and full-time). Our services are confidential and do not require insurance. We operate based on an appointment.
The mission of Student Counseling Services is to provide high-quality, inclusive, and coordinated counseling services. We promote student success and wellness through culturally-sensitive direct service, education, advocacy, and outreach to the NEIU community. Our services help students succeed academically, contribute positively to their communities, and live meaningful lives.
Counseling Services staff is composed of professionals with backgrounds in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. Full-time staff possess doctoral degrees in their fields of study. Graduate students working toward their doctoral degrees also provide services part-time under the direct clinical supervision of the counseling staff.
