STUDY ABROAD QUINTANA ROO - MAYMESTER
Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 Andean Journeys Study Abroad in Ecuador Program. Upload your application and secure your spot using the following link:
https://minersabroad.utep.edu/index.cfm...
If you are thinking of applying, here are a couple of things to consider:
Requirements: The application process is simple. You’ll need to fill out a questionnaire, provide a copy of your transcripts, and provide two letters of recommendation.
Preference: Andean Journeys is a single program but it offers students the opportunity to get 6 credits in three weeks-time by signing up for both classes (HIST 3347: History of South America with Dr. Meringer; and/or HIST 3390/ANTH 4370: Andean Foodways with Fior Daliso Garcia – note that HIST 3390 is cross-listed and therefore available for Anthropology credit). Preference will be given to students who take for both courses.
Scholarships: Study Abroad Office has confirmed that they will give every student signing up for this particular program a $1000 scholarship. That and the fact that this program includes airfare – something the other programs do not do – makes this one of the more affordable study abroad programs at UTEP.
Other scholarships: Peruse the information in the following link for further information on other available scholarships. https://www.utep.edu/.../study-abroad/sa-scholarships.html
The Gilman International Scholarship is an excellent opportunity for students who are Pell Grant eligible. Deadline to apply for that one is March 7, 2024.
Further information on Andean Journeys Study Abroad: follow us on Facebook or Instagram or feel free to stop by offices of Dr. Eric Rodrigo Meringer at LART 329 or Fior Daliso Garcia at LART 320-A
